Rachel + Dalton ~ Nashville, TN Wedding

This month I had the privilege of assisting Kelsey of Kelsey Harrison Photography at Rachel’s and Dalton’s wedding at the W.O. Music School in Nashville, TN!

Rachel and Dalton are such an adorable couple.  I was able to help out with their engagement shoot last October and absolutely love being around them – they are so cute together!    They kept me laughing non stop during both shoots.

I was the designated “loop girl” every time we needed to change shooting locations, so each time we needed to move Rachel would say “Hold on!  Get Laura – I need my loop!”  Let’s just say that I now have a ton of experience finding loops under wedding dresses and am an expert “loop girl”.  ;-)

Here are some of my favorites from the day…

Too Much Pressure

Well it worked!  Shortly after I posted about our ducks not laying, eggs just started trickling in!  It started with 1 or 2 for one day, then nothing the next day, then 3 the next.  Now we are getting 5-6 per day!  I personally think that the ducks are buying the eggs from some neighbors and placing them in the nesting boxes, but I don’t have any proof yet. :)

I guess whenever I want my animals to start doing something, I should just blog about it – Internet Pressure Works :D

Here’s the proof!  I forgot to gather the eggs yesterday, and there are 11 today (no, not all of the eggs are in this photo…we have 2 different nesting boxes for them)!  Getting 11 means that all 6 of the females laid in one day!

For some reason the chickens like being in the duck coop more than the ducks… guess they think they are missing out on something.  Sometimes I even find chicken eggs in the coop!

A Day At The Spa – Almost

I just love making new things – knitting, sewing, candle dipping, cooking, and baking are just a few of my favorites.  It’s a great way for me to de-stress and relax – really, i love it.  One of my absolute favorite things to do is work with different herbs and essential oils.  This weekend I decided to try a *couple* of new spa recipes – I ended up making about 9 or 10 different things. :)  After I made some solid perfume  I wanted to try out a lotion bar in the same scent (it was ahhhmazing)…. then it snowballed into body scrubs and facial products.  I was having way too much fun to stop!  I still can’t decide if the Lime and Ylang- Ylang Facial Scrub or the Lemongrass Body Scrub smells the best :)

My cat decided to join in on the photo… can you see her?  She *loved* checking everything out – Bingley had to chase her off for me.  Thanks B!

Here are just a few of the finished products…. can’t wait to try them all out!

Giveaway and New Goodies ~ Part 6

Finally – the “New Goodie” part of the series!

What’s better than an amazing new Kelly Moore camera bag?  Buying an amazing new CAMERA to go in it!!  That’s right – this week I upgraded my camera to a Canon 5D Mark 3!!  I’m still speechless about this camera…. it’s just flat AHHHMAZING!!!  It’s a lot like my old camera, yet so much is different.  My favorite part (that I’m still trying to get used to) is the awesome 61 focal points to choose from!  I normally don’t change my focal point – it’s been way easier to just focus and re-adjust….but when there are 61 to choose from, I found it hard to resist.

I can’t wait to share a detailed post on the 5D Mark 3, but I’ll wait until I get over the shock.  All I can say after looking at each shot is “eeeeeeeeeep!” – and I don’t think anyone wants to read a post of nothing but “eeeeeeep’s”.  :)

Happy Saturday!!

Giveaway and New Goodies ~ Part 5

I am just soooooo excited about the last item that I won from the giveaway!  If you haven’t guessed already, the giveaway was from Kelly Moore!  I have been wanting one of her camera bags for oh. so. long.  I think that I can probably describe every single one of her bags – I’m *that* obsessed with them.  The main reason that I hadn’t purchased one was pretty simple – I couldn’t choose just one!  They all have so many different features, sizes, colors and looks.  About 2 months ago I narrowed it down to my absolute favorite 2 – so it made my decision a lot easier when I HAD to pick one!

Meet the 2 Sues in Raspberry!

I love how it fits my camera with a lens attached, it’s tall enough to fit my 70-200mm, and it also had an extra section for an iPad!  It doesn’t matter how much gear I have in it at once – I’ve never had a more comfortable bag/purse/camera bag EVER.

Keep an eye out for a detailed post about everything that the 2 Sues bag can do!  Also, get ready for my FAVORITE goodie of all!  No, I didn’t win this amazing item in the giveaway….it’s…..well, you will just have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is!

WOW! What a win!! I really like my mom’s Kelly Moore bag. I have an Epiphanie camera bag which is great too but it is a lot bulkier, so I find the Kelly Moore bag more practical for actually taking on shoots. My problem with any bag is making it work now that I have a battery grip on my camera… do you have one?
